09/30/2007 Another wonderful invitation!! I received an email thru my website from a representative of the 49ers asking me if I could get them 20 cars. There will be cars from different car clubs in this event. They will be celebrating Latino Heritage Day at the stadium, which includes a halftime show. As part of the finale, the classic oldie cars (1954 and below) will parade around the field. The classic cars have been around for many generations and continue to grow. The term "lowrider" comes from the goal of getting the car as close to the ground as possible. Drop spindles, air bags and hydraulics can raise the car to go over a speed bump, make it barely graze the asphalt as it cruises the streets or drop it flush on the ground. Depending on a low rider's generation or car club affiliation, their ride can take the form of a "bomb" ('36-'54 "Classic" car, usually a Chevy). A lot of the car clubs help the community in various ways, especially the needy people. |
