12/22/07 ----  Took coats and blankets to Saint James Park for
the homeless and a few needy people.

Thank you to Debra "Deb"  Coffman for the coats and  for the  five gift
cards at $5.00 each.  They were given to five different homeless people.
A couple of them said they were going to go buy coffee.
Thank you to everyone that donated coats.  All the people there were
so grateful and enjoyed shopping for a coat.  They had a smile on their
faces and there was one homeless man that was singing and dancing.

A special thank to Hospice of the Valley.  Not only did they help me
when my grandma went to heaven but this is the second year they donated
a HUGE amount of coats.  Thank you to Carlene Schmidt for bringing them
to our house again.  Once again Hospice was heaven sent.

The sad part about today was not only seeing the homeless but last year
we had less coats and had extras.  This year we had a lot more coats and
we did not have any left.  It is getting worse instead of better.

Thank you to everyone that helped.

Thank You For Your Support!

On Saturday, December 13, 2008 we went to Saint James Park to distribute coats, blankets, bottle
water, burgers and cookies to the homeless and needy people.
We would like to thank Blvd Bombs and McDonald's for their donations.  Blvd Bombs bought blankets,
sylvias39.com bought bottled water and McDonald's donated burgers and cookies. This year Hospice
Of The Valley once again donated lots of coats and blankets. Thank you so much. Each year your
donations get bigger.
Thank you Mary Ann Cook for writing an article in the Los Gatos Times and Saratoga Times. Because of
you we received more items than expected.  To my surprise lots of people drove from Los Gatos and
Saratoga to San Jose and dropped of LOTS of coats, sleeping bags and blankets. Their generous
donations were appreciated.
Thank you to everyone who went with us to help distribute the items. Especially working with the
homeless people.  This was our 3rd year distributing the coats and it was sad to see we had ten times
more than we had last year and this time there were children. Normally we layout all the coats on top of
a bedspread and then we tell everyone to help themselves. We did that again this year but because of
the amount of people, it was chaotic. A few people forgot their manners and were acting as if there were
money on the ground. Next year we hope there will be less people which would mean our community
has improved. But to be prepared we will have everyone form a line and allow only two people to pick
out a couple of coats. This should keep it organized for everyone.
Thank you to everyone who donated coats and blankets. A line was formed for the burgers, cookies and
bottled water. According to the people, it was worth the wait. There were lots of sad stories and tears,
but for the moment they were happy to see us and most of all grateful for the donations. I can only pray
their situations are temporary and next year they will be blessed with a better life.

Thank you again for your help and support with this cause.

Hope, Faith, Peace and May Blessings Shine upon you!

Blvd Bombs distributes tote bags and in the tote bags they include bottle water, gloves, beanie cap,
poncho, umbrella, new white socks and candy. We set up tables and the coats that were donated are
placed in bins by sizes.  The homeless people are asked to form one line and each person will pick a
Wienerschnitzel's located on Story Road donated corn dogs and McDonalds located on San Carlos
Street for the last two years donated hamburgers.  Your food donations were appreciated by each of
the people at the park.  The awesome Tote bags and blankets were donated by Walmart on Story
Road, thank you so much for your generous donations.

This year was extra special because the Berryessa Flea Market allowed us to have a Show N Shine
Fundraiser which allowed us to purchase bottled water, beanie caps, gloves, ponchos, new white
socks for the homeless, each year we purchase toys for the Toys For Tots house at Christmas In The
Park but this year we purchased and donated a lot more toys, turkeys for Second Harvest & a Turkey
Drives.  For the tote bags rain ponchos, beanie cap, gloves, candy, umbrellas were donated by
Streetlow Magazine.

Hospice Of The Valley donated lots of coats and they have helped us since we started this Donate A
Coat four years ago.  Thank you so much for your continuous support!

Thank you Mary Ann Cook for writing an article in the Los Gatos Times and Saratoga Times each
year. Because of you we received more items than expected.  To my surprise lots of people drove
from Los Gatos and Saratoga to San Jose and dropped of LOTS of coats, a nice lady donated coats
for kids with tags on them. Their generous donations were appreciated. Thank you for your kind
words and compassion.

Thank you to the Radio Stations that help us get the word out and to the people that email the flier to
their friends and family.  Different city helped with the coat donations from San Francisco, Antioch,
Campbell and San Jose, Los Gatos and Saratoga.

We donated over two hundred pairs of new white socks to City Team.  We also had a couple of
friends that gave us money and socks to help with this cause.

On our way down to distribute the coats

Distributing the coats is bitter sweet.  The homeless people were so grateful for the coats, food, tote
bags and the conversations.  The sad part is leaving them in the streets.  For the moment they are
happy to see us, but looking back as we leave is difficult. The image I cannot seem to erase from my
mind is the one homeless that was a sleep on the grass with no shirt on as we were all wearing our
coats.  Our members took tote bags to distribute on the other side of the park and when we saw the
man on the grass it clearly broke our hearts.  We left him a tote bag and continue to hand them out to
others.  When we returned back to the other side a couple of our members went back and took him
food and coats.  We can only hope that when he woke up his items were there to put a smile on his
face.

Each year it appears we have more and more homeless people.  Some have lost their homes, jobs,
wife, husband, boyfriend or girlfriend and some their health insurance.  Some people were in the
Service and when coming home they were unable to find a job, etc..  Some homeless are sick, drug
attics or alcoholics.  Regardless for their reasons, we cannot ignore them.  They are all human
beings.  The little help we as a community can give them will help them thru the day, the rain, the
moment.  We only share these pictures with you so that everyone will know how badly help is needed
with the homeless and children.  I cannot share picture of children in shelters.

The Flea Market has allowed us to have our Show N Shine Fundraiser next year 2010 and we can
only hope it will bring in more money.  It would be a dream come true if we could purchase the
homeless sleeping bags. Thank you to the Flea Market for being a wonderful partner for this cause.

Thank you again for your help, support and donations, we could not do this without you.
Thank you to everyone who went with us to help distribute the items to the homeless people.

Hope, Faith, Peace and May Blessings Shine upon you!

Donated Turkeys & food to Second
Harvest & Turkeys to a Turkey Drive
12/05/2009
---------------------------------------------
Thank you to the people that donated
food at our Sizzler Show N Shine.

A special thanks to George and
Richard for all the food they donated.
Turkeys were purchased with the money
raised at the Berryessa Flea Market
Socks donated into the tote bags for
the homeless and to City Team.
Money donated by Blvd Bombs Members
and friends.
Thank you Blvd Bombs and friends for your hard work and compassion.
As you can see no money can compare to the feeling of helping others.
Each tote bag had a bottled water, beanie cap, gloves, rain poncho, three pairs of white socks, umbrella, blanket and candy.

In a perfect world there would be no homeless people or children in shelters, no poverty, violence, discrimination and no
jealousy.  After all is said and done and our number is up, all we really have left behind are the memories and then it's
judgement time.

It's wonderful to know there are so many people willing to help others.  Speaking from experience there are people with
one pay check away from being homeless and have somehow been able    to help others, often believing where there
is a will, there is a way.  Most of us have a roof over our heads and knowing there    are others worse off we are willing
to help others.  Helping others is so rewarding, a feeling that cannot be bought.

We definitely ended the year on a great note, Thank you to everyone who came out to support our Sizzler Show N Shine
and thank you for donating canned foods for Second Harvest, socks or money for the homeless.  The Berryessa Show N
Shine Fundraiser, that was a huge success!!  And then there was the 50's Party....Get ready for another treat on September
4, 2010 because this will not only allow you to dress in the 50's it will be from 1980's and below.  And brush up on your HULA
HOOP!  It's no secret that Steve is determine to keep his title.

It has been an incredible year, 2009 was definitely a great year to remember.

Get Ready to make even better memories together in 2010!

Wishing you and your family a blessed and a very Happy New Year!
Thank you to Christmas In The Park for allowing us to be
part of your event and congratulations for your 30th Anniversary.

This man was asleep and used his

he was surprised.
Across from City Hall, this man was

stop light.  I ran across the street and I
told the man, "excuse me sir, we have

He had this huge smile.  This is why
